About CAD Los Angeles:
The California Association of the Deaf- Los Angeles Chapter (CAD-LA), operated of, by, and for and with the Deaf Community, advocates and promotes the quality of life and social welfare of deaf people by:
* Empowering deaf individuals to exercise self-determination and independence necessary to lead productive lives in the greater community.
* Ensuring equal opportunities for social, educational, and employment fulfillment.
* Advocating for and protecting our rights to functionally equivalent and accessible services.
* Recognizing American Sign Language (ASL) as a formal language.
* Preserving and respecting our culture and heritage.
* Providing recreational activities.
* Ensuring Deaf culture in Entertainment, Motion Pictures and Television
* Ensuring Deaf children into the proper education opportunities.
